Water can be the most destructive element to our pavements. Especially here in the Northeast we have rain and snow (Rain and Snow in the Northeast makes our pavements even more susceptible to damage) to contend with during and throughout the year. Crack Sealing is a great way to maintain and extend the life of your pavement.
Pavements expand and contract with seasonal temperature changes. Cracks and joints expand and contract as well with pavement movement. Fillers applied to the cracks do not expand or contract.
Crack Sealing is an essential part of maintaining the seal coating on your pavement. Filling or sealing pavement cracks to prevent water from entering the base and subbase will extend your pavement life by at least three to five years.
Asphalt materials are used to fill cracks and to ensure water does not find its way into the cracks of your pavement. Keeping water out of cracks slows pavement deterioration.
